Road Rally ... May 22, 2010
Our first road rally is now behind us.
Cars from the 50's and 70's were represented. We had newer
models as well and even had a foreign convertible sports car and
a late model family sedan. All of the participants stated
that they had a good time. One driver even commented that
he hadn't had that much fun doing anything in a long time.
As a result of this rally, we have decided to
have another one later in the season and hopefully make these
annual events. Although the turn-out was lower than we had
hoped, everybody had so much fun that we'll try another in hopes
that more members will try it out. Participants chatted
after the run and we got a lot of good ideas that we will
incorporate into the next rally. Pictures
from the event can be found here.
Bob Loughory drove his '59 Chevy to first place,
navigated by James Currier. In second place was Robin
Lewis, navigated by Judi Lewis, in their 2008 Chevy Impala.
The third place finisher was Keith Trembley, navigated by Julie
Carlson in a '70 Olds.
