Ron Mitchell was the founder of Highway Legends.  His faith, optimism and cheerful spirit carried him through life with a smile.  Everyone knew him as a man of honesty and sincerity, a man whose dreams included what has become Highway Legends.  He greeted everyone with a handshake, a smile and respect.  His memory will be with us.

Ron has joined Veronica "Ronnie", his loving wife of 40 years who passed away on May 28, 2008.  He is survived by his son Mike and his wife, Cathy, grandchildren Gabrielle, Michael, Shawn, Tiffany and Brian, his fiancée Nickie Neil, his brother Jim as well as his extended Highway Legends family. 

Calling hours were held on Tuesday, August 30, from 12 Noon until 2 PM and 6-8 PM at the TLC Funeral Home, 17321 Old Rome State Road, south of Watertown.  The funeral was held on Wednesday, August 31, at Noon at the New Hope Baptist Church, Outer Arsenal Street in Watertown.  A procession of classic, street rods, muscles cars and other hot rods proceeded to the Brownville Cemetery.  After the interment, there was a gathering at the Dexter American Legion.

It is the goal of Highway Legends to continue to grow in Ron's memory.  We plan to build on the things he started and add new ideas and concepts that we know he would have enjoyed seeing and being a part of.
